Trista and Ryan Sutter, who became a beloved American couple after meeting on ABC’s popular reality television show, “The Bachelorette,” will accompany a pair of lucky travelers on a Hyatt Retreats trip to Huntington Beach , Calif. in November, courtesy of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and American Express.

The Hyatt Travel Quiz identified the Sutters as Romantic Travelers.

Travelers who take the quiz before Nov. 7 and also prove to be Romantic Travelers will be eligible to win a two-day, two-night, all-expenses-paid trip with the celebrity couple to the newly redesigned Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa, located along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway.

The quiz at www.hyatttravelquiz.com asks 12 questions adapted from an established personality test and categorizes participants into four travel types: Romantic, Balanced, Energetic and Driven. The results offer tips on how to relate to different travel temperaments, along with suggested Hyatt Retreats packages.

Richard Goodis of Celebrity Mound had a chance to chat with Ryan and Trista on Friday about their involvement with Hyatt.

Our first question, Did you think you were Romantic Travelers before you took the Hyatt Quiz?

“No, not necessarily,” said Trista. “I mean certain aspects of our personalities would put us in that category, but we are just as likely to be the Driven and Energetic types depending on where we are going.”

Ryan added, “It just depends on whether we are looking for adventure or relaxation.”

We asked them if they learned anything about each other by taking the quiz. To which Trista answered, “No not really, after five years of marriage we pretty much know each other.

Both Trista and Ryan love traveling and have had the opportunity to travel around the world together. But they definitely love travel that mixes adventure and relaxation.

We asked then what their favorite Hyatt properties are. Ryan chimed in, “We love the Hyatt in Maui and the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek. Even though Beaver Creek is close to where we live, Trista loves the spa.”

Ryan wanted to let everyone know that they are very much looking forward to Huntington Beach trip with the lucky winners.

Please remember to log on and take the quiz and GOOD LUCK!

Sources say Madonna’s relationship with Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez was going on a lot earlier than previously thought.

I’ve told you about A-Rod’s multi million dollar ‘love shack’ in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel’s condos over on Columbus Avenue. A-Rod, according to sources, moved in around the middle of March, right before baseball season began.

There’s no question, according to insiders, that Madonna has been a steady presence at the apartment ever since then. She sort of came with the package. According to sources, Rodriguez rented the apartment without ever speaking of his wife, Cynthia. She would have been around seven months pregnant at the time.

The apartment on Columbus Circle would have kept him just five blocks from Madonna’s home base on Central Park West.

Now comes word that Rodriguez is moving out of the sublet on November 1st, and heading possibly three blocks north to the new building known as 15 Central Park West. The former site of the beloved Mayflower Hotel is now Manhattan’s most expensive apartment building, home to dozens of mega-stars and millionaires. It’s just two blocks away from Madonna.

Madonna had better watch out, though. My sources say that the now single Rodriguez is busy meeting ladies “all over the place” - perhaps his own age, or younger, maybe even sans plastic surgery. All his friendship with Madonna may have done is pry him loose of his family so he’s free to roam. On the bright side, little David Banda can get autographs to send back to Malawi.

Jessica Simpson performed for thousands of fans at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas Friday night, but made sure one man in the crowd, her boyfriend Tony Romo, was the center of attention.

“Wow, I love Dallas,” the singer told the crowd at the city’s Fair Park, just east of downtown. “Obviously, I love Dallas because I grew up here and this is my home – you guys are my family – but I did find an amazing boyfriend here in Dallas!”

Cheers erupted for the Cowboys quarterback, who smiled, looking on from the sound area. Although some fans were clearly more interested in watching him watch Simpson perform – their backs were to the stage the entire time – Romo didn’t seem to mind the attention. He grinned as Simpson, 28, called him “the calm of the storm in my life” and said, “Whatever I go through, I know I can depend on him to relax and bring me faith again.”

Before singing “My Sunday,” she added, “This is a song I wrote about a certain someone who throws that football really good.” Simpson giggled and Romo, 28, beamed.

Nursing a broken pinky and chatting with Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, Romo bobbed his head with the music and was caught singing along to a few songs. When Simpson hit a powerful note during “Do You Know,” he clapped in awe.

The admiration was mutual. “Sometimes, to find a love as big as that, you have to go through some heartbreak, some ugly ones and some butthead ones,” Simpson told the crowd. “You go through that to really appreciate where you are in life right now.”

Speaking of “buttheads,” she said she wrote the song “Still Don’t Stop Me” about an ex. “For some reason, I kept letting some guy come into my life. I couldn’t understand it until I wrote this song and was like, ‘Jessica, you need to wake up.’”

Midway through the show, Simpson left the stage as her band was introduced. Romo, protected by police, was also escorted backstage. He returned to the sound booth when she took the stage again.

Britney Spears is laying the groundwork for a major worldwide tour that amazingly just five months ago would’ve been considered a form of international terrorism. I guarantee the Netherlands would’ve surrendered. E! Online reports:

While the comeback pop princess revealed last month that she was planning on hitting the road next year, a source now tells me that things are getting serious. Spears just signed a deal with the mega huge live entertainment company AEG to produce the whole shebang, my source says.

I can’t think of a better beacon of America’s greatness than showing the world Britney Spears no longer looks like she’s in her second trimester. Sure, China might technically own our entire country, but have you seen Womanizer? U.S.A.!

I’m Thankful
An Upbeat Gratitude Song
Jack Hartmann

When I wake up in the morning and I breathe in the air
I’m thankful, I’m thankful
When someone gives me a hug and shows that me they care, hug, hug
I’m thankful, I’m thankful

When I look all around at the colors I see — round and round
I’m thankful, I’m thankful
When I wake up in the morning, when someone gives me a hug, hug, hug
When I look all around ? round and round, I’m thankful today

When a cute little puppy wags his tail for me — wag, wag
I’m thankful, I’m thankful
When I pledge to the flag for our country that’s free
I pledge allegiance, I’m thankful, I’m thankful

When I eat good food with my family and friends — mmm, mmm
I’m thankful, I’m thankful
When a puppy wags its tail — wag, wag
When I pledge to the flag — I pledge allegiance
When I eat good food — mmm, mmm

THANKSGIVING DAY

Thanksgiving Day will soon be here
It comes around but once a year
If I could only have my way,
We’d have Thanksgiving every day.

~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*
Thanksgiving Time
When all the leaves are off the boughs,
And nuts and apples gathered in,
And cornstalks waiting for the cows,
And pumpkins safe in barn and bin,
Then Mother says, “My children dear,
The fields are brown, and autumn flies;
Thanksgiving Day is very near,
And we must make thanksgiving pies!”
~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*
HOW TO OBSERVE THANKSGIVING ?

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*
BE THANKFUL
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made a difference.
It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.
THANKSGIVING IS….
Thanksgiving is…
a time of gratitude to God, our Creator and Provider,
whose guidance and care go before us…
and whose love is with us forever.
Thanksgiving is…
a time to reflect on the changes,
to remember that we, too, grow and change
from one season of life to another.
Thanksgiving is…
a time of changing seasons, when leaves turn golden
in Autumn’s wake and apples are crisp
in the first chill breezes of fall.
Let us remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
As we see the beauty of Autumn,
let us acknowledge the many blessings which are ours…
let us think of our families and friends..
and let us give thanks in our hearts.
Thanksgiving Prayer
by Susan D. Anderson
I’m thankful for my mother, and
I’m thankful for my dad.
I’m thankful for my sisters, and
for all the fun we’ve had.
I’m thankful for my brother, Tom,
(even when he’s jerky.)
But most of all, I’m oh-so-thankful
not to be a turkey.
Mr. Turkey
(to the tune of Yankee Doodle)
Mr. Turkey, better watch out.
Thanksgiving Day is coming.
If you’re not careful, you’ll end up
In someone’s hungry tummy!
Mr. Turkey, run, run, run.
Please run away and hide.
Mr. Turkey, run, run, run.
Don’t wait around outside.
~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*

Turkey Warning

Tell me, Mr. Turkey,
Don’t you feel afraid
When you hear us talking
‘Bout the plans we’ve made?

Can’t you hear us telling
How we’re going to eat
Cranberries and stuffing
With our turkey meat?

Turkey, heed my warning:
Better fly away;
Or you will be sorry
On Thanksgiving day.

At Grandma’s House

I like the taste of turkey
Any time throughout the year
But it never
seems to taste as good
As when Thanksgiving’s here.

Could be it’s all the trimmings
That are cooked with it to eat-
But I think it’s
eating at Grandma’s house
That makes it such a treat!

Turkey Recipe for Thanksgiving Day

Wondering how much turkey you should buy ?
First do the math and than buy it.
How many people you will invite?
How many hours you need (you have) to prepare this food?
Do you have any experience or that will be your first time?
That will help you estimate the amount of time required to cook a whole turkey in the oven. These times are based on placing the bird on a rack in a roasting pan and into a preheated 350 F oven.
If you choose turkey between 10 to 18 pounds you probably need 4-4 ½ hours to prepare turkey. Don’t forget the number of people (include children or pets).
If it’s more than 25 pound – for roasting time you need 5-6 hours to spend in the kitchen.
In general, plan for:
8 -10 lb. turkey for 6–8 people
12-15 lb. turkey for 10-12 people
15-18 lb. turkey for 14-16 people
18-22 lb. turkey for 20-22 people

Depending on pounds you can estimate the amount of time required for baking.

Weight of turkey/ Roasting Time (Stuffed)
10 -18 lb. / 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours
15 - 22 lb. / 4-1/2 to 5 hours
22 - 24 lb. 5 to 5-1/2 hours
24 - 29 lb. 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 hours

Giblet Stuffing (10-12 lb. turkey)

Giblets and neck of turkey, boiled and chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
8 cups soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup parsley, chopped
1/3 onion, chopped
1 apple, diced
pinch of black pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
Rosemary for taste
1 cube poultry seasoning (optional)
1/2 cup chicken broth

Combine all ingredients. Stuff turkey or shape mixture into balls and place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 F until the skin is a light golden color and then cover loosely with aluminum foil. During the last 40-45 minutes of baking, remove the foil to brown the skin. The best test for doneness is the temperature of the meat, not the color of the skin.

Most recipes instruct you to let the turkey rest for minimum 30 minutes before carving. This crucial step allows the meat to relax after tightening up during the cooking process. After resting at room temperature, the juices are redistributed throughout the turkey and the meat stands up to carving better-so the juices stay in the slices.

Turkey Roasting Tips:

The secret ingredient is your time and lots of it. Buying, preparing, and roasting a turkey are time-consuming. With careful preparation and attention to timing, you will be rewarded with a beautiful and tasty main course.

A frozen turkey needs to be defrosted. The preferred method is to defrost it in the refrigerator. A 15-pound turkey will require 3 days to defrost thoroughly. An alternate method is to defrost the bird in a cold water. Allow 30 minutes per pound. That 15lb. turkey will require only 7 1/2 hours to defrost it.

First remove the giblets. This is a fundamental step not only because you might want to use them to make the gravy, but also because it is disconcerting to find these paper-wrapped lumps when carving.

Next, rinse the bird inside and out. Pat dry with paper towels. If you are stuffing the bird, do so now with a freshly prepared dressing. Stuff loosely, allowing about 1/2 to 3/4 cup per pound of bird. Brush the skin with melted butter or oil. Tuck the drumsticks under the folds of skin or tie together with string.
